Where are my notes stored?

You can have as many notes as you want, but only the first 5 will be visible in the sidebar at a time. You can switch between notes using the sidebar or the dropdown for a list of all your notes, and you can reorder them by dragging them in the dropdown menu.

How do I update SnappyNotes?

SnappyNotes 2.0 and every version after it updates itself from inside the app, so there is nothing for you to do. On anything older, quit SnappyNotes and download the latest version from our website. Open the downloaded DMG and drag the app into your Applications folder, and you'll be prompted to replace the existing version. Click "Replace" and you're all set.

How do I import a Markdown file from Finder?

Right-click the file in Finder, select Open With and choose SnappyNotes. You can also choose Import inside the SnappyNotes app.

Why are my notes not syncing between devices?

Accepted Answer

First, make sure iCloud Sync is enabled in both the desktop and mobile app settings, that the app has permission to access your iCloud Drive, and that you have enough iCloud storage. Changes save immediately and usually appear on other devices within a few minutes, though timing varies with iCloud's activity. If it's delayed beyond a few hours, check iCloud status in Finder or the Files app, or sign out and back into iCloud on the affected device.
